Close your eyes and feel the shifting of the winds and oncoming weather…
Closing their eyes and focusing on the shifting winds, a Kwillian with the Detect Forecast ability is able to sense oncoming weather. Perfect for Kwillians planning outdoor activities or events. By using this ability, they are able to work around the weather and not have to cancel any fun plans of theirs.
Detect Forecast is the hardest ability to learn of the novice abilities. A Kwillian will need to learn the minute changes in the wind to master this ability. The user must have absolute focus in order to pick up on the small changes in the shifting winds, or else it will be harder to figure out what type of weather is to come. Also, this ability can only detect oncoming weather and has no way of changing it.
Concentrate and shine the sun from your hands, UV and all.
By concentrating their magic into the palms of their hands, a Kwillian is able to create their own sun rays. Depending on their experience level determines how large or bright their sun rays can be. This ability could be used to help plants grow, brighten up someone's day, or for leading the way on a dark night.
Create Sun Rays requires the user to retain their focus and keep their hands in close proximity to each other. If their hands separate further than 6 inches apart, the ray will kilter and slowly start to fade, causing the user to start all over. Create Sun Rays may not permanently blind another kwill or creature, but it may cause temporary blindness, so make sure not to shine them into someone else's eyes.
Create a small hovering cloud giving a constant drizzle.
Useful for watering for watering crops or plants, as well as washing off a muddy kwilling! Using their magic to gather moisture from a nearby source or in the air, a Kwillian is able to create a small sized, constantly drizzling, rain cloud that hovers above them. Once the user has no more need for the rain cloud they can simply disperse the cloud and a puddle will form where the cloud was last hovering.
A Kwillian beginning to learn how to use this ability, must have some form of water near them to practice creating a rain cloud. Once they've conjured up at least 2 rain clouds, it will become easier to create them and they will be able to use solely the moisture in the air if they so please, or a combination with other forms of water. It's not possible for the rain cloud to create more than a drizzle and they will never have thunder and lighting connected with it.
Conjure a localized storm and listen to the thunder roll.
Using their magic to call forth a localized thunderstorm. If there's already clouds in the sky, a Kwillian wishing to use this ability will have an easier time conjuring up their storm. Conjure Thunderstorms are exceptionally helpful for farmers and mainly for helping the city and wildlife after a heatwave. Once the storm is conjured, a Kwillian can set back and listen to the rolling thunder.
Although a weather aligned Kwillian may conjure a thunderstorm, they can not control it further than summoning the storm and causing it to dissipate. The smaller the storm and the more experienced the user, the easier it is to manage. A Kwillian that has mastered this ability is able to summon a bigger storm, still localized, and decide they want the storm to cease. Conjure thunderstorm is the hardest acolyte ability to master as it involves summoning a large storm compared to the other abilities which involve creating small clouds.
Create a small cloud that spits out chunks of ice, ice cubes on demand!
Condensing their magic into a small cloud, a weather aligned Kwillian is able to create a hail cloud. This cloud is now their very own ice machine, of sorts. They can make it shower ice chunks as soon as the cloud appears or whenever they want. Perfect on a hot day to help keep you and your drinks cool.
Create Hail only allows the user to produce a hail cloud, the cloud can not and will not create any other form of precipitation. The cloud has a maximum duration of 30 minutes. If the user wishes for it to go longer, they will need to use more of their magic, resulting in a small brain freeze.
Kick up a small storm of wind that knocks over things in its path.
Focusing their magic into a small breeze or gust of wind, a Kwillian is able to conjure a small windstorm. While maintaining their focus on their newly formed storm, a Kwillian may use hand gestures to guide it around. A rambunctious Kwillian may stir up a small ruckus around town by knocking things over. It may also come in handy for Kwillians sailing on a body of water.
Since this ability requires the concentration of the user, once that concentration has been lost, the storm will evaporate into thin air. Once a Kwillian is skilled enough with using the Create Windstorm ability, they will be able to kick one up without the aid of already moving wind. The windstorm is never strong enough to knock over a fully grown Kwillian, but it might cause a Kwilling to lose their balance.
Create a small tornado and let it loose to wreak small tornado-sized amounts of havoc!
Having their magic flow through their hands in a flat stirring motion, a Kwillian is able to create a small tornado. Letting it loose on friends or the town to create some havoc if they so choose. With enough experience a Kwillian will be able to have decent control over the small tornado.
A Kwillian planning to use this ability should have a good understanding of wind currents and its dynamics. They should also maintain their focus in case the tornado gets out of hand and they wish to stop it, or just let it run amok. It is possible to control the direction of the tornado, but once it's unleashed, there's no gaining control of it again.
Temporarily clear clouds from a small area, letting the sun or moon shine through a dreary cover.
Concentrating the magic into the clouds, a Kwillian is able to create a temporary clearing in the sky. This allows the sun or moon to shine through the small patch of dreary overlay. This ability is an easy solution for clearing previously made weather clouds or just creating a nice pocket for sunbathing or stargazing.
Depending on the magnitude of the storm, overcast at the time, and the experience of the caster, it will all determine how long the ability may last. If a Kwillian is using Clear Clouds on a very mild cloudy day, it can last up to 5 hours. Compared to a massive thunderstorm the clearing will only last a maximum of 15-30 minutes.
Use your weather know-how and shift the oncoming winds and storms ever so slightly…
Focusing all of their magic into the turning winds, a Kwillian who is able to master this ability will be able to alter the future forecast by a small amount. It's down to the Kwillian if they want to use this ability to help prevent nasty storms from occurring, or they could take a small drizzle and cause it to become a downpour.
The most difficult of the weather abilities to learn. A Kwillian using Shift Forecast must have a well-rounded knowledge about weather in order to alter the forecast how they like. Unfortunately, this ability does not allow a Kwillian to miraculously change the weather after it has begun, the shift must occur beforehand.
