Sense out nearby and far away water sources.
This ability is one of the most useful in terms of survival. Useful when traveling the world, this ability is used to sense water whether far or near! This is also capable of pinpointing moisture inside of objects, such as eggs or even other Kwillian with practice.
The larger a source of the water, the easier it is to detect, especially for beginners in this ability. The closer a Kwillian is to the source of water, the easier it will be to detect it. Typically for smaller sources, such as a cup full of water, a Beginner will need to be in the same room to detect it!
Move water through the air and bend it to your will.
Arguably one of the most important abilities for Water Kwillian to learn, this ability acts as a stepping stone for many of the other abilities! Used to move water from container to container, pull from a well, or just make shapes in the air! Possibilities are near endless.
The time which a Kwillian can hold water in a certain shape maxes out at fifteen or so minutes! This ability requires concentration, having a mind over matter attitude is typically needed to master manipulating water! It's also difficult to lift large amounts of water, with half of the user's body weight typically being the max.
Pull water into one area and condense it.
This ability has two uses! Its main use is pulling water from the air, condensing the particles to water you can use to fill a water skin. This is easiest done on foggy or humid days when there's more water to condense. It can also be used to take that water pulled from the air and create temporary touchable objects from it! Many water Kwillian missing legs or feet will use this ability if they need to go somewhere quickly. It can also be used to create any kind of simple tool, such as a knife or shovel!
This ability uses water drawn from the air, meaning a Kwillian must have enough moisture in the air around them to condense into the desired object/amount. It's also taxing to focus on keeping an item's shape, with most Kwillian not being able to maintain their watery tools or temporary limbs for more than four to five hours. The larger the object, the harder it is to maintain!
Create a whirlpool to drag those caught in its pull underwater.
Most Water Kwillian use this ability to mischievously pull their friends under while swimming and dunk them without having to be near to them. More survival-minded Kwillian often use this ability to drag foes under the surface of the water or use the ability to pull Fish in a certain direction to catch with a net!
This is a difficult ability to learn, as in order to create whirlpools a Kwillian must fight against the weight of the water below. Often beginners must start out making whirlpools in cups before moving on to being able to make them in larger bodies of water. Whirlpools are also hard to maintain and can be dangerous if a Kwillian loses control of their magic, so watch out!
Manipulate water and cut through it like a knife.
This ability gives Water Kwillian unmatched power and maneuverability underwater. Used to move quickly underwater like a torpedo, this ability lets Kwillian descend and ascend quickly when submerged! From shooting up to take a breath of air or diving down to pull other Kwillian out of the water, this Ability is arguably one of the most useful!
This ability requires a Kwillian to pay attention to where they're going. If the user is tired, unfocused, or dazed, they run the risk of losing control of their direction and ramming into something. This ability is also taxing on not just the mind, but the body. Weak or sickly Kwillian will have a harder time maintaining this ability or going as fast as a healthy individual.
Manipulate water to spray a spout into the air.
Most Kwillian use this ability as a way to show off their skills by boosting their friends into the air with a water spout! Many Kwillian who fish use it to spray fish into the air and directly into their nets- or hands! Water Spouts are also nice on hot days when the cool mist that rains down from the spouts is welcome!
Water Spouts take a lot of concentration to keep the spout going! Getting distracted can mean the water spout collapsing, along with anything scooped up inside of it! It's also quite literally impossible to make more than one spout at a time, especially if the spout is more than a couple of feet tall!
Pull Oxygen from the water around you and breathe.
This ability obviously has many uses! Many Water Kwillian use this ability when diving in lakes, rivers, and flooded caverns underground. Commonly this ability is used when searching for artifacts or exploring underwater, typical to use for any task that required a Kwillian to be submerged for long periods of time.
Since only one ability can be used at a time, Kwillian using their magic to breathe underwater can't use Water Propulsion or any other abilities. This ability also requires constant movement and thought to maintain, though less concentration heavy than other abilities the user needs to keep in mind that they're using magic; or else it may fail and leave them without air deep underwater!
The ability to walk on water. Who needs boats with feet like these?
Walking on Water is a convenient and quick way to cross bodies of water such as rivers or ponds. Many Water Kwillians also use the ability to walk through swamps and marshlands to avoid sinking into the mud below the murky surface. That and to avoid getting chomped by creatures that lurk under the surface of marshy waters. Not only is it easier than swimming, but it lets Kwillian transport things across the water and keep them dry!
This ability is exhausting to use for Kwillian thanks to the focus and effort required to keep the user's body from falling through the surface. It's important to avoid distractions such as talking or trying to mess with friends; unless you wanna fall through and get dunked!
Use the power of water to soothe away pain and heal burns.
This ability is great for soothing pain away from cuts and scrapes! Used to soothe the pain away from injuries, whether they're deep or surface level. Heal with Water is particularly effective on Burns, capable of fully healing first and second-degree burns!
This ability is only capable of actually healing first and second-degree burns. Heal with Water is only capable of soothing pain of other injuries such as gashes, scrapes, third-degree burns, etc.
