Pestilent Abilities

Novice

Wither Plant

Wither plants to nothing but rotted shells of themselves with just your touch.


Uses:

This ability allows the user to use their touch to wither away plants into nothing more than a rotten husk. This can be used on any plant, so there's two outlets for this ability. The user could use it to maintain weeds or harmful plants around the areas or near their homes, or the user could use it to make beautiful plants decay.

Limitations:

The wither plant ability does require physical contact between the user and plant that they wish to diminish and is unable to be put to use otherwise. The smaller the plant the easier it is to wither away, so anything bigger than your Kwillian will require practice with smaller specimens.

Detect Illness

Sense whether or not there's illness in another, and even detect what affliction they have…


Uses:

Detect illness can be a very handy ability for the occasional user or Kwillians interested in the medical field. This ability also allows the user to sense two things. The first is, they can sense whether or not another kwill has an illness. The second being, with enough practice, the user can even detect what disease the other kwill has.

Limitations:

Arguably the most challenging of the novice abilities as it does require intense focus. At first, your Kwillian will be unable to know exactly what illness another has and will progress the more they practice the ability. As well as the easier it will be to sense who has or does not have an illness.

Stench

Create a rotten smell in your vicinity, driving others away, and luring some creatures in closer…


Uses:

Using the stench ability allows for a Kwillian to create a disgusting stench in the same area. Be careful while using this ability, although it can drive others off with the foul smell that you produce, it can also lure a few uninvited creatures towards you as well...

Limitations:

A learning kwill has a harder time controlling the proximity of the smell, while a more experienced user has more control over how big the stench reaches. This ability does have a time duration. The longest this ability can last for is a day and the shortest it can last is a couple minutes. So novices learning this ability, be prepared for unknown durations when using Stench in the beginning.

Acolyte

Instill Sickness

Make someone else sick with your touch, from a slight cold to fullblown vomiting, if you're feeling evil.


Uses:

Instill sickness allows a Kwillian to cause another Kwillian or kwilling to become sick. The degree of the illness is dictated by the kwill using the ability and can range anywhere from a small cold all the way to all out vomiting.

Limitations:

Another ability that requires physical contact between the user and another kwill. The worse the sickness, the more energy and strength it takes form the user to inflict it. Over time the smaller illnesses will require less energy from the Kwillian who used the ability. Because of the stress on the user's body, it is the most difficult out of the acolyte abilities.

Grow Fungus

Sprout and grow Fungus from spores, making it flourish under your rotten hands…


Uses:

Beginning with spores and using this ability, your Kwillian is able to sprout and grow fungus with their own claws or paws. Watch your own little fungi cluster prosper and spread under your rotten hands. With enough experience and practice, your Kwillian will be able to grow a variety of fungi.

Limitations:

When a Kwillian begins learning this ability, they are unable to sprout and grow fungus simultaneously. They may sprout the fungi and in between a minute or two interval, grow the sprouts. Grow fungus does not allow the user to grow whatever they please, they can sprout and grow any plant that is categorized as a fungus.

Spit Slime

Spit a disgusting adhesive like slime at others to torment them, or onto anything that needs a strong glue!


Uses:

Using this ability allows the user to create and spit a viscous substance that acts like an adhesive. This may be useful as a sturdy glue for constructing or repairing projects or as a fun way to torment others. It's not fun to clean out of your fur, hair, scales, etc., so be prepared if you use this ability on someone, they may come back swinging.

Limitations:

Spit slime does have a limit, you may only spit out a max of 5 slime balls before you run out of energy. This means that your Kwillian can't rapid fire on anyone or anything and must take a break in between uses.

Professional

Sense Death

Feel when someone is close to death and sense the recently dead in the area, using your magic to its full potential.


Uses:

Sense death allows the user to either feel when someone is on the verge of death or sense any recently deceased in the area. This would come in handy for search parties or learning which areas to avoid.

Limitations:

Perhaps the most difficult of the pestilent abilities as it does require the full potential of your magic, as well as the user's utmost focus and concentration. If the Kwillian's focus is disturbed, they must wait at least 5 minutes before using it again. Beginners using sense death will only be able to feel the recently deceased or if someone is close to death in a close proximity.

Speak with Decomposers

Speak with that which decomposes the bodies of others, such as fungus, earthworms, and maggots.


Uses:

Speak with decomposers allows the user to communicate with living things that decompose the bodies of others from plants, to creatures, to kwills alike. Such decomposers include fungus, earthworms, millipedes, maggots, etc. This ability could come in handy if someone were to pass away from unknown means and the decomposers could give you information about how long they were in the area or maybe even how they passed.

Limitations:

When first learning how to use this ability, the Kwillian must concentrate on speaking and listening to the decomposers. They should also practice while in the process of one of the different types of decomposers. Of course with more experience, the easier it will be to communicate between the Kwillian and decomposers.

Decay Wood

Decay wood with your touch, rotting it from the inside out and weakening its supports.


Uses:

With this ability, the user is able to touch a piece of wood and corrode the wood from the inside out. This can be used on any piece of wood that's growing, full grown, or already fallen pieces. Your kwill is able to begin or further the rotting process, or they are able to weaken the internal supports, it's up to them.

Limitations:

Decay wood does require the user to physically touch the wood that they want to rot. The smaller the piece, the faster the process. This means that sticks can be deteriorated in a minute or two while a big log could take up to an hour.
