Infernal Abilities

Novice

Sway

Instill your will upon another with the power of suggestion and change their opinion to your own…


Uses:

This ability is useful for winning debates as well as to temporarily stop arguing. Sway is most often used by those who dislike arguments or by the ill intended to force others to think the way they do. An ability loved by cults since its very discovery.

Limitations:

Sway can only be used on Kwillian close enough to touch, giving it a rather short range to actually be used in. The ability also only lasts a total of an hour, and will slowly wear off the Kwillian it's been used on after the timer expires. Sway has very little influence over Kwillian with completely differing opinions from the casters own, meaning it's only so useful when it comes to calming arguments or turning others to your opinion.

Tempt

Put the curse of temptation into the mind of another with your magic, influencing their wants…


Uses:

Tempt is used most often with ill intent, tempting others to want what one wants. Or making them want something else so that it's easier to get without multiple people wanting it. However some use tempt for other reasons, such as convincing young children to eat their greens, or the sick to take their meds.

Limitations:

Tempt requires eye contact in order to be used on a Kwillian, meaning unless a target looks into the eyes of the caster the spell is useless. Tempt only works to make someone want something they didn't already want, and can't be used to increase the want someone has for something. The temptation for something only lasts half an hour to an hour, and after that the ability can't be used to tempt them into wanting the same thing again for a complete twenty four hours.

Infernal Fire

Conjure flames harmless to the physical form and scorching to the mind! Put pain into their heads with the power of your fire.


Uses:

Infernal fire's main use is against others. Whether this is for fighting or, on the more grim side, torture depends on the Kwillian and the situation in question. However, on the other hand, it is still fire in appearance. Thus, it can be used as lighting in a pinch. Just be careful not to get caught in it yourself as, while it doesn't burn like normal fire, it can cause immense mental harm!

Limitations:

As it doesn't burn like a normal fire, it cannot be used for physical harm. Likewise, it, at most, causes an intense migraine for the victim rather than driving them insane. Overall, it is more of an inconvenience than anything.

Acolyte

Induce Emotion

Control your emotions to the extreme with this ability, inducing a new emotion into your mind to overtake the others.


Uses:

Induce emotion can be used for many situations where one might need to switch up their thoughts on a dime. Whether it’s to cry on the spot for a performance or ease anxiety by switching to any other emotion, its uses are more on the practical side.

Limitations:

The biggest downside, perhaps, is that induce emotion can only be used on the Kwillian casting it. This ability also requires the user to stay concentrated as the second said concentration breaks, they return to whatever blend of emotions they were feeling before.

Detect Desire

Feel what your target wants, incredibly useful for buying gifts for friends and detecting crushes on others.


Uses:

Detect Desire is another practical ability at an infernal Kwillian’s disposal. As it says on the tin, the caster is able to feel what the target wants whether that’s an individual or an object. This can be useful for sussing out what crushes your friends have or even gifts they would want, making it convenient for matchmaking and gift-giving!

Limitations:

This ability required constant eye contact like many abilities allowing one into the mind of another. When eye contact is broken, the ability immediately ceases to work, though thankfully even just a quick glance is enough to get a read on the desires of others. There is currently no known way to counteract this ability, so just make sure you don’t go making eye contact with an Infernal Kwillian.

Increase Desire

Make more of what is already there and increase the desire of an individual or something they want…


Uses:

The more nefarious sister ability to Detect Desire. Increase Desire is, instead, used to increase how much the target wishes for either an individual or an object. The caster can, perhaps, meddle in the love life of the target or make them desire a useless and/or undesirable object in favor of something else. Most often this ability is used by the jealous or vain to make others adore them and is part of the reason why Infernal Kwillian tend to be in the spotlight without revealing their true alignment.

Limitations:

Like its sister abilities, Increase Desire also requires maintaining eye contact with the target. This ability also has a wind-up period, meaning the longer eye contact is made the more their desire for whatever it is the user has chosen, the more their desire for it grows. Much like Detect Desire, this ability has no known counteraction, aside from breaking eye contact quickly with anyone who you look at.

Professional

Erase Emotion

Calm your mind and remove emotion, useful for those who wish to use rationality over emotional decision making.


Uses:

Perhaps considered an unnerving ability, Erase Emotion does exactly that to the caster. You could be talking to an Infernal Kwillian for a moment and then have them suddenly turn stone cold mid-sentence. Useful for prioritizing rationality over emotion first and foremost.

Limitations:

Similar to its sister ability, Induce Emotion, this ability’s biggest downside is that it can only be used on the caster. Also like its sister ability, the caster must concentrate on the absence of emotion in order to maintain this ability. Meaning the caster has to focus on having no emotions at all to be void of said emotions.

Manipulate Movement

Puppet another's digits or limbs to an extent, from the tapping of a finger to the waving of an arm.


Uses:

Manipulate Movement has many uses, both practical and nefarious. While others might view Infernal Kwillians with this ability as terrifying puppeteers, this ability doesn’t allow a total takeover of another’s body (that’s a different one)! Instead, the caster in question can move as little as a finger or as much as a limb in a simple fashion. This can be used to make somebody get another’s attention when they don’t want to by waving their arm for them to lightly assisting somebody with a task among other things.

Limitations:

For the most part, the limitations of Manipulate Movement are simple. The big one is that you have to maintain concentration to make somebody perform the movement you want them to. The perhaps unfortunate one is that you must mimic the action you want them to perform. Keep that in mind if you wanna embarrass somebody!

Takeover

Project your feelings, heart and head, into another's mind and body, taking over their emotions and wants completely for a period of time. No talking about your feelings needed!


Uses:

Generally considered a terrifying ability, Takeover allows the user to project their self into another’s body and mind. Doing so, they can override the target’s emotions and wants for a period of time. While this sounds as if it only has nefarious intentions, it can also be used in cases where you don’t want to and/or can’t explain your feelings, allowing you to be read like an open book for that period of time!

Limitations:

The two main things a caster needs to cast Takeover are the following: a lot of concentration and maintained eye contact. To maintain a takeover requires utmost focus and concentration, not allowing the caster to falter for a moment. Likewise, the target needs to be willing to keep that maintained eye contact. Establishing and breaking the connection is disorienting, having it broken early through failure of one of those two means exasperates the issues that come with it.
