Novice
Decrease Body Temperature
Lower your body temperature to unnatural lows with this ability, summer heat can be beat!
Uses:
An incredibly useful ability, Kwillians can lower their body temperatures to unnatural lows in a pinch! Good for those incredibly hot summer days doing work outside, or to simply become a walking ice pack for others.
Limitations:
The hotter the environment, the longer it takes to lower body heat to desired temperatures. It also takes a lot of concentration for beginner users to keep their body heat low, though it gets easier the more a Kwillian uses it. As well as the more experienced a Kwillian is, the colder they can become compared to beginners!
Breathe Frost
Breathe out small plumes of frosty breath, allowing you to cool your drink, or frost plants in the morning.
Uses:
A gateway to the more powerful abilities an Ice Kwillian can learn, Breathe Frost is an important skill for one to master. Concentrating their saliva into frost, one can breathe out small plumes of frosty breath. This is useful for cooling something down on a dime, or to frost plants in the morning. Can even be used to prank your friends!
Limitations:
One of the hardest abilities for a beginner to learn, it takes a lot of concentration for new users! This ability can be used for as long as your lung capacity desires, like all breathing magic. As well, this ability only creates frost, not pure ice or snow flurries.
Cool Object
Hold an item tight and lower its temperature. Useful for making cool packs for hot days, or keeping a drink nice and chilled.
Uses:
Holding an object tight, a Kwillian can concentrate their magic into their hands and lower the object's temperature! Useful for keeping drinks as chilled as desired or making cold packs for hot days, it's an easy ability for a beginner to learn.
Limitations:
This ability can only be used to chill objects, not freeze them! Kwillians using this ability must be physically holding the item they wish to cool since the magic is concentrated from their hands into the item(s) they wish to cool down.
Acolyte
Manipulate Snow
Manipulate and shape cold snow without touching it, condensing it into shapes, or even shards of ice to be thrown at others…
Uses:
Using their mind, a Kwillian can manipulate and shape cold snow to whatever they desire without touching it. Whether that be into shapes like spheres for snowball fights, or even shards of ice to be thrown at enemies, this ability has quite a bit of potential!
Limitations:
A Kwillian attempting to hold a shape they've created with snow can only hold it for a small amount of time, about 15 minutes maximum with great concentration. One can only manipulate small amounts of snow at a time as well.
Freeze Objects
Freeze an object with your touch! Useful on fruits for a cold day, not so useful on something you intend to drink…
Uses:
A more powerful version of Cool Objects, Freeze Objects does exactly as it sounds! Concentrating your magic in your hands, you can freeze any object with just a touch. Useful for making popsicles on a dime or for frozen fruits on a hot day, this ability is definitely a popular one!
Limitations:
Similar to Cool Object, this ability can only be used on anything a Kwillian is physically holding as the magic is concentrated into their hands. As well, since this ability instantly freezes anything you desire, it may not exactly be so useful on some things, like something you intend to drink.
Detect Cold
Close your eyes and feel around you with your mind, detecting cold areas and objects with only your magical abilities.
Uses:
By closing your eyes and feeling around yourself with your mind, a Kwillian can detect cold areas and objects using only their magical abilities! Useful for locating all different kinds of cold spots, even including patches of corruption. As well, the colder the detected spot is, the more intense the feeling is. Meaning, A Kwillian can guess rather accurately the exact temperature they feel just by the intensity!
Limitations:
The less experienced a Kwillian is with this ability, the smaller the range of detection. As well, since one's eyes must be closed to harness their full concentration to use it, you don't have much awareness of your other surroundings which can really leave a Kwillian out in the open.
Professional
Conjure Snow
Call down snow from clouds to your location, whether it be indoors or out.
Uses:
Using the moisture from the air and clouds, a Kwillian can harness their magic and conjure snow directly to their location, whether indoors or out! Perfect for those days where you want to have a snowball fight, but the weather just won't listen!
Limitations:
The warmer the temperature of the surrounding area, the harder it is to cool the moisture in the air to snow. Meaning this ability is near impossible to use on those ultra hot summer days, even for masters of this ability!
Manipulate Ice
Manipulate Ice as though it were water, forcing it to take the shape you will upon it. Perfect for Ice Sculptures.
Uses:
With intense concentration, a Kwillian can manipulate ice as though it were water, forcing it to take the shape they will upon it! Many of the greatest ice sculptors known across Glyphith are masters of this ability. The possibilities are endless!
Limitations:
Beginners of this ability tend to only be able to manipulate small amounts of ice at a time, as the amount of concentration one needs to properly hold the shape of the ice is immense. Even with tons of practice, this is seen as one of the hardest skills for an Ice Kwillian to perfectly master.
Ice Breath
Breathe out shards of ice made of saliva to chill your friends as a joke, or your foes as a weapon.
Uses:
Using the saliva in one's mouth, a Kwillian can breathe out shards of pure ice! It can be used in small ways such as chilling out your friends as a joke, or even used in deadly ways against one's foes as a weapon!
Limitations:
Like its easier counterpart Breathe Frost, this ability is limited to the user's lung capacity like all breathing magic. As well, for beginners the amount of concentration required makes it quite tough to nail down perfectly. One mastered though, this ability is a great way for an Ice Kwill to protect themselves!
