Novice
Create Crystals
Create small crystals in your hands from any liquid you can imagine.
Uses:
Taking hold of any liquid one desires, a Kwillian can create small crystals from the liquid alone! From water to pure mercury (not recommended!), the crystal possibilities are endless!
Limitations:
Not all liquids are created equal. The ease of creating crystals are reliant on the liquids one uses and the user themself. One may find creating crystals from water easier than from another liquid, while another may find the opposite. As well, the crystals they can form can only ever be small in size.
Color Crystals
Turn crystals all the colors of the rainbow with this magical ability.
Uses:
Holding onto a crystal, a Kwillian can concentrate their magic onto it and force it to turn whatever color they desire! Great for enhancing the color a gem already is to make it more desirable, or for more nefarious purposes like making a less valuable gem look like a more valuable one…
Limitations:
Depending on how drastic of a color change the user wants to turn the gem into, the harder it is to do, as well as the longer it takes. It's definitely easier to saturate the color a gem already is as opposed to turning it the complete opposite color of what it once was. Only Kwillians who are more experienced in this ability are truly able to turn a gem to whatever color they want with ease, it's best for beginners to start out simple.
Sense Crystals
Close your eyes and feel around you, sensing out crystals in the area.
Uses:
By closing one's eyes and feeling around them with their magic, a Kwillian is capable of sensing out crystals in the area using only their magic. Perfect for Kwillians mining an area for precious stones to sell!
Limitations:
The less experienced a Kwillian is with this ability, the smaller the range of detection. As well, since one's eyes must be closed to harness their full concentration to use it, you don't have much awareness of your other surroundings which can really leave a Kwillian out in the open.
Acolyte
Create Obelisk
Using Purithiul, create a massive obelisk capable of retaining purity magic to form a protective barrier against corruption.
Uses:
Using Purithiul, a Kwillian can create a massive obelisk capable of retaining purity magic. This obelisk is capable of forming a protective barrier, used to stop the spread of corruption in the area! One of the most helpful abilities found in all of Glyphith, most Crystal Kwillians try to master this ability as soon as they can!
Limitations:
Many Kwillians who try to rush themselves in perfecting this ability for the good of Glyphith find themselves overwhelmed by what it really takes. The amount of concentration and dedication needed to create such a large and powerful obelisk is intense. It's best for beginners to start out small, perfecting smaller versions of the obelisk before going to work on the real ones. Even still, this ability usually requires multiple Crystal Kwillian in order to truly get even one obelisk powerful enough to retain the amount of purity magic needed to create the protective barrier.
Manipulate Crystals
Manipulate Crystals into unique shapes and patterns, warping and bending them to your will.
Uses:
Concentrating one's magical abilities into their hands, a Kwillian can take a crystal and manipulate it into unique shapes and patterns, completely warping and bending them to one's will! Known masters of this ability are even able to make small, unique patterns into larger pieces, seen as a signature of sorts on their work!
Limitations:
This ability requires quite a bit of concentration to get those perfect shapes and patterns in a crystal, else you end up with shoddy work! Beginners should start with small pieces to perfect their unique techniques, though with enough practice, one can work with rather large crystals to create true works of art!
Crystalize Object
Use your magic to crystalize an object, turning its previous material into a crystal.
Uses:
Taking whatever object one wants, a Kwillian can use their magic to completely crystalize it, turning its previous materials into pure crystal! A fun way for one to spice up some old unwanted junk in their home by turning it into a beautiful work of art!
Limitations:
This ability is most effective on smaller objects, no matter skill level! The materials in an object also greatly define how easy it is to convert said object to crystal, as not all materials are created equal! Pure metal materials such as copper, silver, etc. are found to be much easier for a Kwillian to crystalize than any other kinds of material.
Professional
Create Crystal Armor
Create Crystal plating on your skin, protecting you from minor damage and blows, best used against sharp weapons.
Uses:
Concentrating one's magic onto specific parts of their skin, a Kwillian can create crystal plating on their body! Perfect for protection from minor damage and blows, though best used against sharp weapons. The perfect defense in a fight!
Limitations:
This ability takes absolutely tons of practice to actually be usable in a fight! Beginners find the amount of concentration to quickly form the crystals on their skin rather difficult to achieve, so it's recommended to avoid using it properly in fights if possible until fully mastered.
Exhale Crystals
Crystalize your saliva as it exits your mouth and exhale a flurry of crystals at your foe.
Uses:
Channeling one's magic into their saliva, a Kwillian can crystalize their saliva as it exits their mouth and exhale a flurry of crystals! The perfect offense in a fight, these crystals can be made as sharp as one desires & is capable of doing tons of damage. Or, on a more tame note, a Kwillian can make the perfect personal gift to a friend or loved one with a crystal made directly from their saliva! (Though, that's probably a little gross…)
Limitations:
As the crystals are created through saliva, the size of the crystals tend to stay rather small. And, as with all breathing magic, this ability is limited in its use by the lung capacity of its user. The more experienced a Kwillian is in this ability, the longer they can find themselves using it!
Crystalize Living Things
Turn a living thing such as a flower or insect into a crystal version of its previous glory.
Uses:
Taking hold of a living thing such as a plant or an insect, one can turn it into a crystalized version of its previous glory! Perfect for memorializing whatever you wish forever, like a flower gifted from a loved one. Also perfect for making beautiful crystalline treasures worth tons of coins!
Limitations:
The larger the object one attempts to crystalize, the longer it takes and the harder it is to fully turn! The type of creature one attempts to crystalize also matters, it's found that plants such as flowers tend to be much simpler and quicker to turn as opposed to an insect or, Leht forbid, another Kwillian.
