The New Growth Festival

What is the New Growth Festival?

The New Growth Festival is a celebration held each year in honor and preperation of the new life to be born that year. This festival is wildly considered to be goodluck and able to catch the favor of the gods, and is sometimse held in hope of better harvests and purer lands in the future. Most often though it's more seen as a fun week (despite being a month long for us) of a Kwillians year where they can kick back, play games, enjoy food, socialize, and forget about the horror of the world for just a little bit.

During this time of year you can Play Games, get New Growth Leaves or NGL's, and spend them at the Prize Booth! You can also enter for eggs for raffle exclusively for NGL's, participate in the story for the year, or even just hang out and watch it all unfold!

Every Newgrowth, Nina is also overrun by Eggs, and tends to hold a big raffle to those who have undergone home checks and the like already to receive an egg. Intersted? Sign up, and be ready to have your cabinets baby proofed!

How do I participate?

To participate in the New Growth Festival and win leaves, all you have to do is well... participate! Either by completing some or all of the ongoing story prompts for the year, or by drawiing or writing your Kwillian completing the various prompts available at each New Growth Festival booth.

  • Booths Reward 15 NGL per prompt completed for minimum effort (Partial, Unshaded, no Background), adding more to an image adds more leaves to the total it awards as follows;
    • Fullbody | +10 Leaves (Per Figure)
    Detailed Shading | +10 Leaves (Per Figure)
    Simple Background | +5 Leaves (Per UNIQUE Background)
    Detailed Background | +15 Leaves (Per UNIQUE Background)
    Gift Art | +5 Leaves (Per Figure, Not Counted for NPCs)
  • All prompts can be completed multiple times by the same or multiple kwillian and for the 2024 Newgrowth there are No Time Limits on any of the booths.
  • All submissions should be submitted to the #ngf-submissions channel on our discord to count for leaves, if you participate on deviantart ensure your submission is also in the New Growth Festival 2024 folder in the group.

All Booth Prompts only require a Partial Shot with no shading. More effort means more leaves!

Bobbles Apple Bobbing

Booth Prompts:

  • Draw or Write your Kwillian participating in bobbing for the apples themselves! Hopefully their good at it, but, maybe not...
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian cheering on a friend or disparaging a foe as they bob for apples! It's never bad to encourage your friends... or discourage your enemies.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian enjoying an apple or two, after all, Bobble has plenty to go around and he doesn't mind sharing.

Fish n' Bits

Booth Prompts:

  • Draw or Write your Kwillian trying to fish in the fishing tub, do they catch anything or do they fail?
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian fishing at the booth with a friend, or in a competition with another Kwillian! The second Kwillian must belong to another user.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian trying to catch escapee fish who have jumped from their tub, though who can blame them for not wanting to be in there?

Dahlia's Ring Toss

Booth Prompts:

  • Draw or Write your Kwillian tossing rings trying to get them onto the bottles! Like most booth games, this one is here to be played.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian having Ring Tossing competition with another Kwillian not owned by you!
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian trying to toss (or accidentally tossing) a ring onto another Kwillians horn/ear/head/etc!

Victors Ball Toss

Booth Prompts:

  • Draw or Write your Kwillian trying to toss a ball through the hoops set up at the booth.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian throwing the balls at Victor, or another user's Kwillian.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian helping set up the bottles for the next contestant, they get knocked over quite often, and poor Victor probably has a concussion at this point so he could use some help.

Maxwell's Whack-a-Bat

Booth Prompts:

  • Draw or Write your Kwillian playing the Whack-a-Bat game, similar to bopping gophers and other similar games.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian bopper fighting with a Kwillian owned by another user.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian checking out the advertisement at the Whack-a-Bat stall for the Glyphith Hunters Guild.

Niko's Egg Hunt

Booth Prompts:

  • Draw or Write your Kwillian participating in the Egg Hunt, finding the colorfully painted Pick-Pick eggs!
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian taking part in the egg-finding competition with another user's Kwillian!
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian help gather up eggs at the end of the day! Can't just leave those out and about you know.

Crush's Axe Toss

Booth Prompts:

Kwillings may not complete these prompts.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian trying to throw an axe at a target by themselves or with a friend!
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian getting help from Crush on learning how to throw the Axes properly to avoid injury.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian having gotten an injury trying to do Axe Throwing! Of course, Crush has the most dangerous activity…

The Wheel of Chance

This booth can only be played every 24 Hours

Booth Prompts:

It doesn't seem like Mutis ever fixed up the booth... what a lazy bum.
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian spinning the wheel!
  • Draw or Write your Kwillian speaking to Mutis, for whatever reason! He'll probably just spin the wheel for them so they'll leave...

The Prize Booth has many different possibilities on what it might spit out. Each spin on the booth costs leaves and has a weighted chance of winning you one of the prizes from the booth, or occasionally doing nothing at all and eating your leaves.

  • Double the amount of leaves you put in (meaning since you put in fifteen (15), you get an extra fifteen (30 Total) back)!

  • An Upgrade Voucher for a completely random upgrade, baby upgrades cannot be rolled.
  • A random amount of Jade Coins anywhere between 50 and 200!

Cake Pops

A consumable item, there are five different Cake-Pops each with a different effect they can instill on the consumer. Click on a Cake-Pop name below to see what effect it will give you!

Upgrade Pops are used on a Kwillian as an item, allowing the application of a randomly rolled upgrade! This upgrade is not required to be applied, however if applied must be applied to the Kwillian that was originally linked.
Iris Pops can be used one a Kwillian to entirely change their eyecolor! This item works identically to eye-drops, meaning you use this item on a Kwillian in order to change their visual and registered eye color to a different one! New eye colors must still follow eye color rules such as not going below 15% Lightness or exceeding 85% Lightness in HSL Values.
Gem Pops can be used one a Kwillian to entirely change their Gem Color! This item can be used to change a Kwillians gem color to a different one! This new Gem Color must stay within legal range and does not NOT change the accent-color on the toes or tail of your Kwillian.
Lucky Pops can be used at the Item Booth to increase your luck, giving you a better chance for a good deal, and eliminating your chance of losing Leafs to the machine. This pop must be used in conjunction with a roll and will only be used on ONE ROLL even if you submit multiple with the pop! Other rolls will be rolled without.

Alignment Pops can be used on a Kwillian to completely change their alignment, randomizing it to one of the same Tier of alignment. The different pools are below to allow people to see what alignment they might get when randomizing!

Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Purity.
Corruption, Infernal, Spectral, Toxic, or Pestilent
Secondary Alignments of any Kind!

Unusual Pops don't smell very appetizing, and something is very wrong with them... the petals, leaves, and vines coming out of the cake-pop don't inspire confidence. Consume one by using it on a Kwillian to let them have a 50/50 shot of immediately contracting Petal Choke at its final stage.
